isolite system in a patient's mouth

Isolite System

Cornelia Dental is excited to offer the Isolite System, a revolutionary device is designed to make your dental visit easier for both you and the dentist.

This innovative technology:

  • Makes your visit more comfortable
  • Reduces your time in the dental chair.

The soft flexible mouthpiece protects your tongue and check while allowing you to relax your jaw and close down comfortably during the procedure, relieving the tension of keeping your mouth open. With the Isolite system gently and continuously suctions away water and loose particles and the bright LED light source illuminating the area, your dentist will be able to work more quickly and efficiently – getting you out of the dental chair and back to your life. No one loves to have dental work done, but we believe you’ll love the comfort and convenience of Isolite just as much as we do.

At Cornelia Dental, we use the DIAGNOdent to help us to diagnosis hidden cavities. While fluoride has helped to make the tooth enamel stronger, we have found that cavities have gone "underground" and have migrated below the tooth's surface - making them more difficult to detect. By using the DIAGNOdent technology, we are able to get a digital reading from suspicious areas to allow us to know how to best treat the tooth. These quantifiable readings allow us to safely "watch" a tooth that looks suspicious and monitor those readings at each dental examination. We are then able to use the most conservative means available to keep you healthy and keep your dental visits and expenses to a minimum.

ProMax 3D Imaging

ProMax and 3D Imaging

Our Promax Imaging System has taken digital x-rays to a new level.

For our patients who find it difficult or uncomfortable to take regular intra-oral dental x-rays:

  • Wiggly children
  • Small mouth
  • Tori - bony growths in the jaw
  • Gag reflex

The Promax allows us to take extremely high quality images without putting the x-ray sensor inside your mouth! By using the same technology as our panoramic imaging system, you can comfortably have your cavity detecting x-rays taken at your next dental cleaning visit. We offer these extremely comfortable x-rays at same cost as our intra-oral x-rays.

To assist us in diagnosis and planning for dental procedures, we use the 3-D Imaging feature to allow us to see your tooth and jaw structure from different angles. A 3-D image will often show cracks and important information about your jaw structure to help us offer you the best treatment options.

intraoral camera

Intraoral Camera - A Clear Vision of Your Dental Health

You know the importance of prevention when it comes to your dental health, and we’re always looking for new, improved ways to help you achieve a healthy smile for life. While X-rays provide valuable information, they don’t give a complete view of everything that is going on inside your mouth. With the use of an intraoral camera, we can see every aspect of your teeth and mouth with incredible detail, uncovering cracked teeth, plaque deposits, cavities next to fillings, and excessive wear. When we can discover oral problems early on, your treatment is much less invasive and much more cost effective.

Our intraoral camera is small, about the size of an electric toothbrush. You probably wouldn’t even notice we’re using it, except that with the intraoral camera, you have the opportunity to see everything we see on a flat screen monitor right in front of you. This is a great tool to help you become more informed about your dental health, as it gives you a clear understanding of your teeth’s condition, and it allows you to make a more informed decision regarding your treatment options.

iTero Digital Scanner

If you've ever had a dental impression done, you probably didn't enjoy having the goopy impression material in your mouth. Our iTero Digital Scanner often allows our patients to avoid that experience while taking an extremely clear digital impression of your teeth for your dental treatment.

digital x-rays

Digital X-rays

Cornelia Dental has been providing the benefits of digital x-rays to Habersham County for several decades now. Digital x-rays allow you to spend less time in the dental office because you can instantly see the results on the monitor from your chair. No waiting for the x-ray to develop. Our doctors can view your digital x-rays from any of our computers in the office (and even remotely from home) which allows the doctor to review your x-rays quickly.

Digital x-rays mean less radiation than the x-rays of the past, which reduces the longterm exposure for you and your family. If you have questions or concerns about dental x-rays, please share your concerns with our team members so that we can make sure that we address your needs and concerns.
